STEM Challenge

On Tuesday 24th September, six Year 5 : Ella Jones, Jack Pilling, Manon Closs, Louie Closs, Tom Marston and Rhyd Mountford, took up the challenge at the Shropshire Star's sponsored STEM challenge event at Enginuity in Ironbridge.

Along with eight other schools, their task was to design and build a Discovery Center in a wildlife area to attract visitors, using materials available such as cardboard boxes, tubes, straws etc. The judges were impressed with their innovative and detailed design and their fantastic communication skills which won them the overall Teamwork prize.

Rhyd and Tom volunteered to take on the Maths Challenge whilst the others finished the build. They were brilliant and answered every question correctly, making it through to the final. They finished a creditable 4th place.

Their team photo was in the Shropshire Star on the 26th September and the video of their efforts will be available online in the near future.

Well done to them! They were a credit to Radbrook School.
