At Radbrook After School Club we provide after school care for children attending Radbrook Primary School. The club runs from our classroom situated in the school from 3.15pm until 6pm each day, and our caring team of staff are all fully trained, enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) checked and have a passion for learning and play.

We run a fantastic programme of activities delivered by our qualified and friendly staff. Children have an opportunity to do homework, play and socialise before going home. Early Years and Foundation Stage children can choose to join in with the structured activities and have opportunities to participate in play throughout the afternoon, which incorporate the prime, specific and key characteristics of the Early Years and Foundation Stage.

Dear Parent/Carers,

The school has been reviewing the organisation, booking and payment system for Breakfast and Afterschool Club.

We are aware that the current system is not very flexible for parents and we are keen to improve that from September.

In September Breakfast and Afterschool payments will be paid through the School Gateway in the same way as other school payments are made.

Instead of committing to sessions for the full year you will be able to book the sessions that you need.  This means if your child has a doctor’s appointment, a playdate or is feeling unwell you can contact the school office who will cancel your booking and a credit will remain on the system which can be used against another session.

This will mean we no longer need to ask for notice to be given if you are changing the number of sessions your child is attending you will just book and pay for the sessions you want to use.  Also we will no longer hold a waiting list as booking sessions will be on a first come first served basis.

The school gateway has a limit of 40 pupils for Breakfast and Afterschool Club.  Once this limit is reached you will not be able to book your child into the session and your child will not be able to attend.  To ensure you have a place we recommend you book and pay for sessions well in advance.

If you pay for your Breakfast or After school club by childcare vouchers you will need to tick voucher payment on the School Gateway system and pay your vouchers directly to the school bank account.

Please note you need to book your sessions before making payment.  Payments made without booking will not allocate you a place and the money will just sit in your account not assigned to any activity.

The system will be set up in the summer holidays and will be ready to access and book sessions from Monday 4 September.  It is therefore really important that you cancel any standing orders you have set up with the school from 31 July.

Please note that if you have not used the Breakfast or After School Clubs before you will need to complete a Registration Form as it enables the club managers to have access to contact information and medical information for your child out of normal school hours.  The revised Extended School Club Policy is attached for more information.

Yours sincerely

Mrs E Thelwell
